AMERICAN FICTION Digital Streaming Premiere Date Revealed

Amazon MGM is expected to release its Oscar nominated comedy AMERICAN FICTION for sale on digital platforms next week, arriving on February 6th, 2024. The film world-premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival (where it won the Audience Award) before debuting in US theaters in limited release on December 15th, 2023.

American Fiction was written and directed by Cord Jefferson, in his feature directorial debut. Based on the 2001 novel Erasure by Percival Everett, the film follows a frustrated novelist-professor who writes an outlandishly stereotypical "black" book as satire, only for the book to be published to high sales and praise. It stars Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Issa Rae, Sterling K. Brown, John Ortiz, Erika Alexander, Leslie Uggams, Adam Brody, and Keith David.

The film is nominated for five Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Wright), Best Supporting Actor (Brown), Best Adapted Screenplay (Jefferson), and Best Original Score (Laura Karpman).
