Apple has released the official trailer for Spike Lee’s HIGHEST 2 LOWEST, which will launch in US theaters on August 15th, 2025, before debuting on Apple TV+ on September 5th, 2025. The film world premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. You can check out first reactions from that premiere here.

Highest 2 Lowest is directed by Spike Lee and written by William Alan Fox. It is an English-language reinterpretation of Akira Kurosawa's 1963 Japanese film High and Low, itself loosely based on the 1959 novel King's Ransom by Ed McBain. The film stars Denzel Washington, Ilfenesh Hadera, Jeffrey Wright, Ice Spice (In her film debut), and ASAP Rocky.

In the film, when a titan music mogul (Denzel Washington), widely known as having the “best ears in the business”, is targeted with a ransom plot, he is jammed up in a life-or-death moral dilemma.

You can find the release dates on our In Theaters and Streaming calendars. Check out the new official trailer below.
