Edward Berger’s THE BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER Gets Netflix Streaming Premiere Date

Netflix has released first look images for its upcoming psychological thriller THE BALLAD OF A SMALL PLAYER, which will have a limited US theatrical release on October 15th, 2025, before launching on Netflix on October 29th, 2025.

The Ballad of a Small Player is directed by Edward Berger (Conclave), written by Rowan Joffé, and is based on the 2014 novel by Lawrence Osborne. It stars Colin Farrell, Fala Chen, Deannie Yip, Alex Jennings, and Tilda Swinton.

In the film, A high-stakes gambler decides to lay low in Macau after his past and debts catch up with him. Along the way he encounters a kindred spirit who might just hold the key to his salvation.
