The Sony Pictures horror sequel I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER is set to make its SVOD debut later this month, arriving on Netflix on October 16th, 2025. The film launched in US theaters on July 18th, 2025, and hit PVOD on August 26th.
I Know What You Did Last Summer is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky after an initial draft with Leah McKendrick. It is the fourth film in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise, serving as a direct sequel to the 1997 film of the same name and 1998's I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.
The film stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, and Sarah Pidgeon, with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. reprising their roles as Julie James and Ray Bronson from the first two films.
In the film, when five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer… and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.
