New on Kanopy This Week: THE PROMISED LAND, LAST SUMMER, MEMORY, MARIE ANTOINETTE, KANDAHAR & More

We’re big fans of Kanopy here at When To Stream, so this is our new feature to highlight the notable titles added each week to the streaming service. Many are non-exclusive, but some are making their ‘SVOD’ debuts (though Kanopy is not a subscription service).

If you’re unfamiliar with Kanopy, it’s an on-demand streaming video platform for public and academic libraries that offers films, TV shows, educational videos and documentaries. The service is free for end users, but libraries pay fees on a pay-per-view model, from which content owners and content creators are paid.

All you need for full access is a library card through your local library. Kanopy can be viewed on a computer, mobile device, or television via a web browser supporting HTML video or the Kanopy app for Amazon Fire Tablet and Fire Stick, Android, Apple iOS, Chromecast and Roku.

All movies and television series are streamed ad-free, and no monthly subscription is required. To sign up, go to kanopy.com. It’s a fantastic deal.
