Netflix has set a streaming premiere date for its upcoming Richard Linklater Godard-homage NOUVELLE VAGUE, which will begin streaming on their platform on November 14th, 2025. The film world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival (see reactions to the premiere here) and will have a limited theatrical release in US theaters on October 31st, 2025.
Nouvelle Vague is directed by Richard Linklater, and stars Guillaume Marbeck as Jean-Luc Godard, Zoey Deutch as Jean Seberg, Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo, Matthieu Penchinat as Raoul Coutard, Adrien Rouyard as François Truffaut, Antoine Besson as Claude Chabrol, Roxane Rivière as Agnès Varda, Jean-Jacques Le Vessier as Jean Cocteau, Côme Thieulin as Éric Rohmer, Laurent Mothe as Roberto Rossellini, and Jonas Marmy as Jacques Rivette.
A playful, poignant love letter to cinema, the film reimagines the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless in an exuberant exploration of the youthful rebellion and creative chaos that shaped the French New Wave.
We’ve added the release date to our In Theaters and Streaming calendar. Check out the French language poster and international trailer for the film below.
