Sci-Fi Adventure WATCH THE SKIES Gets Digital Streaming Release Date

XYZ Films is set to release their Swedish sci-fi adventure WATCH THE SKIES on VOD and digital platforms early next month, arriving on July 8th, 2025. The film launched in US theaters on May 9th, 2025.
Watch the Skies (original title: UFO Sweden) is directed by Victor Danell, and stars Eva Melander, Inez Dahl Torhaug, and Jesper Barkselius.
In the film, when a foster home placed teenage rebel suspects that her father is not dead but kidnapped by UFOs, she takes help from a UFO association to find out the truth. Together, they embark on a risky adventure that takes them far beyond the laws borders and into a world filled with UFO expeditions, conspiracies and inexplicable phenomena.
Watch the Skies was filmed in Swedish, but in the US theatrical release, the actors appeared to be speaking English through the use of TrueSync, an AI visual dubbing tool from startup Flawless, which effectively syncs new (in this case, English language) dialogue with the actors’ mouth movements. The original actors recorded their lines in English as an ADR process, before the Flawless AI tech was applied to the movie.
We’ll see if retailers offer the option of turning off the AI dubbing. Currently only Apple lists a Swedish language track (with English subtitles) in its pre-order.
