Sony Pictures Classics is set to release their comedy-drama THE PENGUIN LESSONS on VOD and digital platforms, arriving tomorrow, April 29th, 2025. The film premiered as a Gala Presentation at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, and launched in US theaters on March 28th, 2025.

The Penguin Lessons is directed by Peter Cattaneo, adapted by Jeff Pope from Tom Michell's 2016 memoir, and stars Steve Coogan, Björn Gustafsson, David Herrero, Jonathan Pryce, Julián Galli Guillén, Aimar Miranda, and Nicanor Fernandez.

The film is inspired by the true story of a disillusioned Englishman who went to work in a school in Argentina in 1976. Expecting an easy ride, Tom discovers a divided nation and a class of unteachable students. However, after he rescues a penguin from an oil-slicked beach, his life is turned upside-down.

We’ve added the release date to our streaming calendar. Check out the film’s official US trailer below.
