Acclaimed Drama FAMILIAR TOUCH Gets Digital Streaming Release Date

Music Box Films is set to release their award-winning drama FAMILIAR TOUCH on VOD and digital platforms next month, arriving on August 19th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, where it won the Lion of the Future prize for Best First Film, and the Orizzonti section Best Director and Best Actress prizes. It launched in US theaters on June 20th, 2025.

Familiar Touch is written, directed, and produced by Sarah Friedland in her narrative feature directorial debut. It stars Kathleen Chalfant, Carolyn Michelle Smith, Andy McQueen and H. Jon Benjamin.

The film follows an octogenarian woman’s transition to life in assisted living as she contends with her conflicting desires and self-narratives amidst her shifting age identity and memory.
