Hit Indie BAD SHABBOS Gets Netflix Streaming Premiere Date

The hit indie comedy BAD SHABBOS is about to get a huge profile boost, as it’s set to arrive on Netflix on October 16th, 2025. The film world premiered at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival, where is won the Audience Award, before launching in US theaters on May 23rd, 2025. It hit VOD and digital platforms on September 16th, 2025.
Bad Shabbos is directed by Daniel Robbins and written by Robbins and Zack Weiner. It stars Kyra Sedgwick, Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Jon Bass, Milana Vayntrub, David Paymer, Meghan Leathers, Theo Taplitz, Ashley Zukerman, Catherine Curtin, John Bedford Lloyd, and Alok Tewari.
In the film, an engaged interfaith couple are about to have their parents meet for the first time over a Shabbat dinner when an accidental manslaughter gets in the way.
After its limited release earlier in the summer, the film has slowly expanded across the country, collecting nearly $1.5M at the box-office. A major success story for this indie distributor.
