Lionsgate Confirms Digital Date for THE LONG WALK, Sets 4K/Blu-ray/DVD Launch
Lionsgate has confirmed the PVOD date for their Stephen King adaptation THE LONG WALK, which will arrive on VOD and digital platforms on October 21st, 2025. Additionally, the studio has announced the 4K/Blu-ray/DVD, which will launch at retail on November 25th, 2025.
The Long Walk is directed by Francis Lawrence and written by JT Mollner. It is based on the 1979 novel by Stephen King (under the pseudonym Richard Bachman). The film features an ensemble cast including Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill.
In the film, in a dystopian near-future, 100 teenage boys must embark on an annual competitive test known as "The Long Walk". The rules are simple: maintain a speed above 4 miles per hour. Receive three warnings in an hour and you’re shot dead. The last one walking gets whatever he wants for the rest of his life. Under these grim circumstances the boys develop deep friendships despite knowing that each of their friends’ survival is a threat to their own.
