Sony Pictures Classics Unveils Official Trailer, Poster for Richard Linklater’s BLUE MOON

Sony Pictures Classics has released the official trailer and poster for their upcoming music drama BLUE MOON, which will open in New York and Los Angeles in limited release on October 17th, 2025, before expanding nationwide on October 24th. The film world premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival.

Blue Moon is directed by Richard Linklater and written by Robert Kaplow. It stars Ethan Hawke, Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale and Andrew Scott.

In the film, on the evening of March 31, 1943, legendary lyricist Lorenz Hart confronts his shattered self-confidence in Sardi’s bar as his former collaborator Richard Rodgers celebrates the opening night of his ground-breaking hit musical “Oklahoma!”.
