Venice 2025: First Reactions to Guillermo del Toro’s FRANKENSTEIN

The Venice Film Festival continues today, and reactions to some of the highly anticipated world premieres are hitting social media.
FRANKENSTEIN is written and directed by Guillermo del Toro, based on Mary Shelley's 1818 novel of the same name. It stars Oscar Isaac, Jacob Elordi, Mia Goth, Felix Kammerer, Lars Mikkelsen, David Bradley, Lauren Collins, Charles Dance, and Christoph Waltz.
We all know the story: A brilliant but egotistical scientist brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
Frankenstein had its world premiere in the main competition of the 82nd Venice International Film Festival on August 30th, 2025, it will be followed by a limited theatrical release on October 17th, 2025 and a global release on Netflix on November 7th, 2025.
