Welcome to When To Stream’s monthly preview! We’re here to give you an overview of the top streaming titles (including PVOD, Digital, and SVOD) expected in October 2025, and also give a glimpse at the films we expect to launch this month, but have not yet been announced.

CAUGHT STEALING (PVOD)
Synopsis: Hank Thompson, a burned-out former baseball player, is unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of '90s New York City.
DOWNTON ABBEY: THE GRAND FINALE (PVOD)
Synopsis: When Mary finds herself at the center of a public scandal and the family faces financial strife, the entire household grapples with the threat of social disgrace. The Crawleys must embrace change as the staff prepares for a new chapter with the next generation leading Downton Abbey into the future.
JIMMY AND STIGGS (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: A shitstorm of bad news sends out-of-work filmmaker Jimmy Lang spiraling into an out-of-control bender, during which he claims to have been abducted by aliens. Fearing they’ll come back, he contacts his old friend Stiggs to help him gear up for war. When the sun sets, the duo are thrown into a hallucinatory explosion of aliens, drugs, booze, and all-out carnage.
THE NAKED GUN (Paramount+, MGM+)
Synopsis: Follow the misadventures of Detective Frank Drebin's son, Frank Drebin Jr., in this sequel to "Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult".
RABBIT TRAP (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: When a musician and her husband move to a remote house in Wales, the music they make disturbs local ancient folk magic, bringing a nameless child to their door who is intent on infiltrating their lives.
SPINAL TAP II: THE END CONTINUES (PVOD)
Synopsis: Spinal Tap, England’s loudest and most punctual band, reunite following a 15-year hiatus for one final concert.
SUSPENDED TIME (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: A film director returns to his childhood home in provincial France with his brother and his girlfriend and discovers isolation to be an artistic curative.
TIN SOLDIER (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: When the leader of a dangerous cult triggers a standoff with authorities, a former soldier returns to the compound he left many years prior to face down the man he used to follow and search for his missing wife.
THE TOXIC AVENGER (PVOD)
Synopsis: A horrible toxic accident transforms downtrodden janitor Winston Gooze into a new evolution of hero: THE TOXIC AVENGER! THE LOST BUS (Apple TV+)
Synopsis: Bus driver Kevin McKay and school teacher Mary Ludwig navigate a bus full of children through a deadly wildfire as the town of Paradise is caught in the destruction and chaos.
PRIMITIVE WAR (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: During the Vietnam War, a recon unit ventures to an isolated jungle valley to uncover the fate of a missing platoon. They soon find themselves in a fight for their lives against an unexpected enemy — prehistoric dinosaurs.
SHELL (VOD/Digital)
Synopsis: Down on her luck actress Samantha Lake is invited into the ultra-glamorous world of Zoe Shannon, CEO of wellness company SHELL. When SHELL patients begin to go missing, Samantha realizes Zoe may be protecting a monstrous secret.
STEVE (Netflix)
Synopsis: Set in the mid-90s, Steve is a reimagining of Max Porter's Sunday Times bestseller Shy. The film follows a pivotal day in the life of headteacher Steve (Academy Award® winner Cillian Murphy) and his students at a last-chance reform school amidst a world that has forsaken them. As Steve fights to protect the school’s integrity and impending closure, we witness him grappling with his own mental health. In parallel to Steve’s struggles, we meet Shy (Jay Lycurgo), a troubled teen caught between his past and what lies ahead as he tries to reconcile his inner fragility with his impulse for self-destruction and violence.

Synopsis: Connor is a kind and unassuming young man, who, along with his long-time crush Olivia, engages in a threesome with a sweet, alluring stranger named Jenny. Synopsis: A collection of Halloween-themed videotapes unleashes a series of twisted, blood-soaked tales, turning trick-or-treat into a struggle for survival.
WEREWOLVES (Hulu)
Synopsis: Two scientists try to stop a mutation that turns people into werewolves after being touched by a super-moon the year before. It does not work and those exposed to the moonlight turn into savage werewolves causing mayhem with the armed vigilantes in the streets and laying siege to one of the scientists family home.

Synopsis: Mr. and Mrs. Twit are the meanest, smelliest, nastiest people in the world who also happen to own and operate the most disgusting, most dangerous, most idiotic amusement park in the world, Twitlandia. But when the Twits rise to power in their town, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals are forced to become as tricky as the Twits in order to save the city.
